Sri Badarinarayan Temple Address & Darshan Timings, Badrinath.

Badrinath is the dham of Lord Maha Vishnu. The Badarinath Temple is the most sacred pilgrimage place situated in the Himalayan heights in the Garhwak hill track in the Chamoli district in the state of Uttaranchal, India. The presiding deity of the temple is known as "Badrinarayan" or " Badari Vishal".   The temple houses idols of Gauruda(vehicle of Lord Vishnu), Adi Shankara, Swamu Desikan and Sri Ramanujam.
The other shrines at Badrinath are Goddess MahaLakshmi Temple and Lakshmi Narasimha Mandir. The origin of the temple was traced in the 8th century by "Jagath Guru Shri Adi Shankaracharya". 
The name Badrinath is derived from the word "BADRI" which represents the area where "berries" grow in abundance.

Shri Badrinarayan Mandir Darshan Timings:
The Badrinath Temple remains open for a period of 6 months only in a year from may to october and remains closed from october to April due to winter snow. The temple darshan timings are 4:00am to 10:00pm. This year 2013, according to the Hindu Calendar Shri Badarinarayan mandir opening date has been announced and the date is on May 16, 2013(Thrusday) at 4:00am.

It is an ongoing tradition following in this place for opening of the temple of Gangotri and Yamunotri on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. According to the Hindu Calendar this year 2013, this auspicious day falls on May 13, 2013(Monday). The next day is the opening date of Kedarnath Temple and the fourth day is the Badrinath temple opening date which is on May 16, 2013(Thursday) at 4:00am.
